HOW YOU CAN HELP

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT
There are many ways to help us: If you have a pet, you can have it spayed/neutered for free at one of our clinics. Doing so will help reduce animal overpopulation in Bequia.  You can also join us as a volunteer to distribute information leaflets in your neighbourhood, to report any stray, lost or injured animals, or to help us collect donations during our special one-week awareness campaign (date to be confirmed).

We are also in constant need of supplies: collars and leads, harnesses, folding crates (all sizes), tarps, towels, blankets, sheets, latex gloves, folding tables, pet food, dog shampoo, deworming medicine, medications for mange, ear mites and fleas, dog treats and toys, oxytetracycline antibiotic in spray...

For more information on how you can help us or how to make a donation, please click here or contact us. Thank you in advance for your support!

Spaying is the surgical removal of the reproductive organs of female dogs and cats while neutering is the surgical removal of a male animal’s testicles, both performed by a qualified veterinarian. Spaying/neutering is good for your pet and our community in Bequia. It reduces or eliminates various health problems that are difficult to treat, such as mammary cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate disease and testicular cancer.

Spaying/neutering makes dogs less aggressive and less likely to mark territory. It is a quick, efficient and humane solution to reduce uncontrolled breeding and damages caused by stray pets that get into trash containers, kill wildlife and farm animals (such as goats), and frighten tourists.

Please consider all the benefits of spaying/neutering: a better life for all animals, cleaner neighbourhoods, and a safer environment for our local farmers and our tourism industry.
