Our Mission

The Bequia Animal Protection Alliance (BAPA) is a non-profit organisation that has been created in response to the growing number of stray dogs in Bequia (Grenadines), and to the numerous enquiries of concerned visitors to the Island.

We work on a volunteer basis. One of our Alliance members is studying veterinarian medicine in Grenada, and two of our volunteers will soon complete a course in basic animal emergency care - all of which will be a great help when an animal is ill or injured, and needs to be stabilised before being treated by a qualified veterinarian.

Our plan is to organise and execute approximately four animal clinics per year in various locations of Bequia, to spay/neuter pets, treat medical conditions and provide emergency/first aid care, including transportation to the main island, when required, for professional care. We had one very successful clinic in January 2017 during which 23 animals were spayed/neutered. We thank the VSPCA team and Dr Eric Audain, DVM, from Kingstown, for their commitment and support.
